This is a relatively flat parkland course and despite there being no blind holes it is well protected by no less than 68 bunkers.

The Garnkirk Burn winds its way through the middle part of the course, making the sixth and seventh holes testing, depending on which way the wind is blowing. On a sunny day there are magnificent views of the Campsie Hills, with Ben Lomond in the background.

Dean Robertson achieved the current course record of 62 when he was still an amateur. A copy of his scorecard is on display in the trophy cabinet.
