Golf in France

Please select a region in France.

Alps Loire Valley Paris
Brittany Normandy Pas de Calais
Gascony

Fast becoming a popular alternative to the more famous likes of Spain and Portugal, France is enjoying a burgeoning reputation as a fantastic place to go for a little bit of golf.

It’s not hard to see why either: cheap, affordable, welcoming and with great courses to be found in virtually every single part of the country, France really is a golf destination on the up and up.

It doesn’t really matter which part of the country you choose to play your golf in either – the choice is remarkable everywhere you look, thanks in no small part to a large course construction programme that has taken place over the past few years.

The south coast, Provence and the Cote d’Azur has golf courses from Monte Carlo to Pyrenees and is perfect for a long, secluded golf holiday with fantastic weather virtually a given.

The French Alps, meantime, offer a great selection of courses in quite impeccable surroundings. The picture-postcard scenery in this region looks, at first glance, as though it was crafted by Mother Nature specifically with golf in mind and so, for those who like golf against a mountainous backdrop, this is unquestionably the place to go.

The choice is huge in the beautiful Loire Valley and Burgundy too, with plenty of things to do off of the course as well as on it. Some people will tell you that it is in these regions that you will be able to enjoy a true, traditional French experience, so if that sounds to your liking, then you know where to go.

In and around Paris, from Versailles to Chantilly, there are even more rich pickings for golf fanatics. Best of all, with the capital city always within close proximity, this really is, what some have labelled, ‘spoil yourself country’.
Within pitching wedge distance of the UK, Normandy, Brittany, Picardy and the Pas de Calais are all well worth a visit if you like your golf. There are superb courses littered all around the north-west of the country and picking your favourites is no easy task, let us assure you.

It’s better to have plenty choice than no choice, however, and plenty choice is something that you’ll most certainly have wherever you choose to venture if you are wise enough to say ‘oui’ to golf in France.
