Bounded on two sides by the Union Canal and completely encircled by trees, Ratho Park is an oasis of calm in a bustling world. The course was laid out by the great James Braid and comprises eighteen holes with a par of 69.

Although an easy walking 5, 932 yards with four par threes and one par five visitors usually find that easy walking does not necessarily mean easy scoring.

Ratho Park is a course which demands accuracy rather than length and which rewards thoughtful golf rather than power. Missing a fairway rarely results in a lost ball, but strategically placed trees and bunkers combined with subtly sloping greens ensure that the wayward shot is punished.
