Troon Lochgreen is a par 74 course at 6, 819-yards. It's an upland links golf course that will test you all the way. Opening with a 473-yard par four it will either get your round up and running or put you right on the back foot. Either way, it's a memorable start. The dogleg 16th hole sweeps to the right with punishing gorse and pines to negotiate and a fore green which is well guarded by a stand of strategically placed bunkers. Indeed, Lochgreen has been used an Open Championship qualifying course where, in 1962, Jack Nicklaus qualified for his first Open at Royal Troon. |
